How it is calculated
- Last salary: total monthly salary ÷ 30 × days worked but not yet paid.
- Gratuity: 21 days’ wage per year of service, on your last basic wage.
- Unused leave: basic wage ÷ 30 × earned leave days not taken. Annual entitlement: 21 days, 28 after 5 years (Article 79).
- Notice pay: total salary ÷ 30 × notice days not served. The employer pays it if it ended the contract without notice; it is deducted from you if you resigned without serving notice. Statutory notice: 1 month up to 2 years’ service, 2 months after (Art. 49).
- Deductions: loans, advances or other sums you genuinely owe. You can ask for each one in writing.
Worked example
An employee on QAR 9,000.00 a month (QAR 5,400.00 of it basic) worked from 1 January 2019 to 31 March 2026, the employer ended the contract, and 20 days of the last month and 12 leave days are unpaid:
| Last salary (20 days) | QAR 6,000.00 |
| Gratuity (Article 54) | QAR 27,412.77 |
| 12 unused leave days | QAR 2,160.00 |
| Final settlement | QAR 35,572.77 |

Common questions
What is included in a final settlement in Qatar?
Unpaid salary, your end-of-service benefit, pay for earned annual leave you did not take, notice pay where it applies, and any other dues such as overtime, minus loans or advances.
When must the final settlement be paid in Qatar?
The law sets payment rules; ask your employer for the payment date in writing and contact the labour ministry if it is late.
Is unused leave paid on basic or total salary?
This calculator uses the basic wage, the same basis as Qatar gratuity. Your contract may pay leave on a higher wage, and the better term applies.
Do I get notice pay if my employer ends my contract?
If your employer ends an open-ended contract without giving the statutory notice (1 month up to 2 years’ service, 2 months after), you are owed wages for the notice not given. This usually does not apply to a lawful dismissal for misconduct.
Can my employer deduct money from my final settlement?
Yes, for sums you genuinely owe such as loans and advances, or notice pay if you resigned without serving notice. Ask for a written statement of every deduction before you sign.
